Show is a national Bluegrass expose of bests

      (AAPNW-KY) – The Kentucky Watercolor Society’s 33rd national juried exhibition, “Aqueous USA 2010” opens Tuesday, September 28 in the gallery in the Actors Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky from 5:00-10:00 pm. There will be also an official opening reception and presentation of awards between 5:30-7:30 pm on Friday, October 1, and the show will remain on view through the month of October.

     Nationally known instructor and watercolorist, Sue Archer of Florida juried the show where paintings from 70 artists from 24 states were selected. ‘Aqueous’ has gained national notice over the years with rewards totaling over $10,000, along with many of the works purchased while on exhibit.

     The exhibition will be running concurrent to Actors Theatre’s production of “The Mystery of Irma Vep” and “Dracula.” For more information on the plays, call Roanne at 502.584.1265 or see www.actorstheatre.org.

     Formed in 1977, the Kentucky Watercolor Society is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization that promotes watercolor as an important medium in the arts community and they provide support and educational opportunities for the watercolor artist. With over 400 members nationwide, they sponsor exhibitions, competitions and workshops for the professional, hobbyist and beginning artist.
