Seniors set to show works

     (NWPR-IN) – Senior graphic design and art education major, Jamie Thurston from Van Wert, Ohio, and Ashley Ray, a senior graphic design major and fine arts minor from Elida, Ohio, will both exhibit their work in the show titled, “Through Prompted Melodies.”

     The works of these two graduating visual arts students, goes on view Monday, November 22 through December 8 in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery in the Merillat Centre for the Arts on the Huntington University campus. An artist reception for the gallery event will be from 6:00-7:30 pm on Saturday, December 4.

     Thurston’s works will be a series of eight 16 x 20 in sepia tone photographs based on finding beauty in rustic, worn-down town architecture. She also designed and completed a website for the Christian hardcore rock band “…It Was April.”  

     Ray will be showcasing a collection of ten 11 x 14 in photographs (a printed photography portfolio) and five ‘Save-the-date Invitations’ in promotion of her photography business, Ashley Ray Photography. The second portion of her senior project is a series of modern abstract paintings, emphasizing her journey throughout her college career.

     The Wilson Gallery is open weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and the gallery is free and open to the public.
