Visual Arts and receiving $2,000: Amy B. Brier, Bloomington, Michele Corazzo, Chesterton; Artur Teixeira Da Silva, Indianapolis; Robin D. Day, Indianapolis; Lynette K. Whitesell, Hartford City; Barbara Fields Timm, Reelsville; Cynthia A. O’Dell, Fillmore; Mary Elizabeth Kramer, Terre Haute; Catherine Anne Fritsch, Cicero; Judith R. Odell, Indianapolis; Sala Wong, Terre Haute;Scott Beam/ Freedom Puppets, Wolcottville; John P. Scarpa, Holland; Cathy A. Hillegas, Floyds Knobs; Peter Williams, Terre Haute; Elke Pessi, Bloomington; $1,950 for Angela Delores Leed, Plymouth; and $1,926 for Heather Ann Murray, Mishawaka.
Crafts and receiving $2,000: Lydia Gerbig-Fast, Fort Wayne; Michele Heather Pollock, Columbus; Dani M. Tippmann, Columbia City; Nancy Lee / nDesigns, Indianapolis; Lisa L. Dayvolt, Evansville; Suzanne Carter, Terre Haute; $1,406, Daren Pitts Redman, Nashville; and $1,845 for Jane Case Vickers, Evansville.
Media Arts and $2,000: Duane Busick, Bloomington; Michael Flaherty, Terre Haute; Sara Beanblossom-Huntington, Indianapolis; and William Baer, Evansville.
Photography and receiving $2,000: Susan Leigh Moore, South Bend; Eric Nisly, Goshen; John Bower, Bloomington; Timothy Drake Berg, Muncie, John Gevers, Fort Wayne; Daniel Rybicky, Gary; Craig McCormick, Indianapolis, William T. Fuller, Valparaiso; and $1,027 to Frances M. Lattanzio of Terre Haute.
“In spite of these economically challenging times, Hoosier artists are continuing to strive to make great art and enhance their careers as artists,” said IAC Executive Director Lewis C. Ricci. “The Indiana Arts Commission is committed to stretching its available resources as far as possible, to help as many artists as possible to be successful in pursuing their creative objectives.”
At the end of July, volunteer citizen peer panels reviewed more than 140 Individual Artist Program project proposals. These IAP grants were among 334 funding recommendations for artists and community-based cultural program providers approved for projects in visual arts, photography, crafts, media arts and design arts. Performing arts and literature project applications will be considered next year. As in years past, artists could request up to $2,000 for career development assistance.
