Opening in the Grand Gallery on Sunday, January 31,Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair” and remaining on view through April 24, 2016 at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York, the only US Northeast venue for this show and one that is the first to explore the history of the Ebony Fashion Fair and the inspirational woman behind it, Eunice Johnson, will feature selected creations by world-class designers, such as Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta, Pierre Cardin, Patrick Kelly, Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen—a traveling spectacular that helped redefine the concepts of empowerment, pride and achievement for African Americans.

     The show will bring together forty ensembles, including haute couture and ready-to-wear gowns, feathered coats and statement designs from the 1960s to the 21st century.
