(NWPR) The “The Jinx Removers” opens at the FUNKe Fired Arts Center in Cincinnati, Ohio on Friday, September 10, with works by Paul Andrew Wandless and Bobby Scroggins, and will remain on view in the Thomas J. Funke Gallery through October 8. A reception for the artists is from 6:00-9:00 pm on opening. Admission is always free and open to the public.
“In this two person exhibition, artists Wandless and Scroggins take creativity to the next level, with not only over 100 ceramic works that soar beyond material and process, but also speak to a deeper emotional level with icons of life, love and luck,” says FUNKe Gallery Director Lisa Merida-Paytes.
Also going on during the opening in the Gallerie Annex, Michael Everett will talk on his work, processes and concepts from 6:30-7:00 pm as part of the FUNKe Art Nights program, including throughout the “The Jinx Removers” exhibition, members will have their works on sale.
In addition, the exhibition brings Wandless and Scroggins together as well as part of FUNKe Workshop Series, on Sunday, September 19. “Paul will work with participants with direct printing onto clay using screens and linocuts, and Bobby will teach how to create a textural mosaic in clay, including simple texture tool making, basic mold making, tile making techniques, and more,” said Bethany Kramer of FUNKe.
