College chosen to serve Hoosier region

(AAPNW-IN) – Heading up Indiana Arts Commission’s Region 12, IAC Executive Director Lewis C. Ricci spoke, “We are excited to enter into this new partnership arrangement with the Community Arts Program at Hanover College, and believe they are uniquely qualified to serve the cultural needs of the region.” Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Scott and Washington counties are part of Region 12. Hanover College has a strong history in southeastern Indiana for featuring nationally and internationally known artists.

“The Community Arts program at Hanover College is honored and excited to join with the Indiana Arts Commission, to help sustain, nurture, and promote the arts in southeastern Indiana,” said Paul Hildebrand, Director of the Community Arts Program. “We look forward to becoming personally acquainted with Hoosier artists and arts organizations in our region, and to assisting them to advance the good work they are doing on behalf of all our citizens.”

Regional Arts Partner organizations must be nonprofit or public organizations that meet IAC criteria for providing services to multiple counties in their geographic region. Organizations are awarded a grant to meet key service delivery in their regions. These include community arts programming, regional services, and arts organizations and project re-granting. Funding for each region is based in part on population and geographic size of the region.
