Coker works ‘lights’ up the gallery

“Echoes” is a collection of simple narratives, expressed in glass and bronze.

IDAHO FALLS, ID (PNAN) – On view at the Willard Arts Center through Sunday, January 15, 2023 is an exhibition in the Hall Gallery by Pocatello sculptor Kristol Coker, who combines bronze and glass with light to create vibrant transparent works that infuse a sense of fluidity and movement in her contemporary figurative art.

“In my work, I concentrate on the primal core of human nature, our evolutionary journey through time, and the emotional awakening we experience throughout our lives. The figurative forms that inspire my work connect us,” says artist Coker.  “We possess an innate response to look for familiar forms and assess their purpose. The lack of facial expression in my female figures invites the viewer to search the form for clues as to its meaning.”
