Bookbinding workshop on agenda

     (NWPR) – Senior Conservator Gerald Ward at Etherington Conservation Services in North Manchester, Indiana is presenting an “Introduction to Bookbinding” workshop on Wednesday, September 22 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Artlink.

     Ward will talk about and lead a discussion of the general history of bookbinding design and construction, including what materials and techniques used in various binding styles. Students will construct a simple pamphlet-style sewn binding using no adhesive.

     Open to the general public, however limited to ten participants, the workshop fee is $35. Basic materials and tools are provided, but learners are encouraged to bring any sort of specialty paper or other materials that they may want to incorporate into their design.
