Winds of Change: Art Exhibit Call-for-Entry
The wind can be exhilarating. It can also be challenging and so can change. The Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert, Ohio is challenging artists to contemplate the breezes that tickle our imaginations and will be will be accepting wind-themed artwork in painting, drawing, photography and sculptural mediums.
Artists are encouraged to consider the effect of wind and wind-based clean energy in their lives and in the regional landscape. Do you make mobiles, kinetic sculptures or wind-swept landscapes? This exhibit is for you.
Submit your work, entry form and fee before the May 1, 2016, 5:00 pm deadline. You may enter up to 4 pieces. All works meeting submission requirements will be judged for the following cash awards: First Place: $400, Second Place: $150, Third Place: $75. The exhibit opens on May 7 and a closing reception is scheduled for Friday, May 27, 2016, 6:0-9:00 pm. Featured performer, international blues musician Radoslav Lorkovic of Chicago, will be returning to provide live music on our baby grand and his accordion. In addition there will be free hors d’oeuvres at the cash bar.
60th Annual June Art Exhibit
Call for entry! The Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert art intake dates for their 60th Annual June Art Exhibit will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th, from 1:00-5:00 pm.
This exhibit accepts painting, drawing, mixed media and sculpture, is open to all artists 18 and older. A non-refundable fee of $25 for Wassenberg Art Center members or $30 for non-members entitles the artist to submit up to three entries. Almost $2000 in total cash prizes to be awarded.
The exhibit opens on Saturday, June 11, 2016 and is free to the public. The reception is from 6:00-9:00 pm and will also feature the band from The One-eyed Show, Saint Mary’s.
