Theatre Camp begins in June

Beginning in June, the Historic Sidney Theatre in Sidney, Ohio will host its annual Summer Theatre Camp with two sessions.

The first begins on Monday, June 3 through June 7, 2019, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, for ages 9 to 13. Campers will participate in workshops full of acting, singing, dancing and crafting. Students will put together a mini musical, “Yee-haw!” and will to share their work with an audience at 7:00 pm on June 7. The cost is $100.

   The second camp begins on Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14, from 9:00 am to Noon, for ages 6 to 8. Campers will participate in workshops full of acting, singing, dancing and crafting. Students will put together a mini musical, “Spaced Out!” and will share their work with an audience at 7:00 pm on June 14. The cost is $50.

Instructors include coordinator and choreographer Laney Shaw, director John Austin Young and conductor John Streb and community volunteers. For the camps, breakout sessions may include auditioning, acting 101,  stage combat,  general theater terminology and etiquette, costuming and set building.
