FAIRBANKS, AK (PNAN) – On view in the Bear Gallery in the Alaska Centennial Center for the Arts through December 23, 2022, “Rarefied Light” is an annual fine art photography juried exhibition.
This year the Alaska Photographic Center received 460 entries by 70 artists. Guest juror, Dan Burkholder, selected 55 photographs by 43 artists. Best of Show went to: “Rock Salt” by Alice Baily of Fairbanks. Honorable Mentions chosen were: “Summer’s Celebration” by Susan Andrews of Fairbanks; “Innocence” by Johanna Grasso of Anchorage; “Light in the Forest” by Andrea Jacobson of Anchorage; “At Soldotna Airport – Autumn” by Joseph Kashi of Soldotna; and “Birthday Friends” by Susan Biggs of Soldotna.
The show next tour dates are: Kenai Peninsula College from January 19-March 30, 2023 and the Valdez Museum & Historical Archive from May 8 to September 10, 2023. Note: Opening receptions are TBA pending COVID-19 restrictions.
