(NWPR-OH) – They are Russian musicians, Igor Sklyarov, Vladimir Perminov and Vladimir Popras, who play the glass instruments, producing deep low sounds that give birth by a stream of air like in a usual wind instrument. Movements of their hands, gleams of crystal, gleeful melodies are all inseparable performing parts by the Crystal Trio musicians, who are coming to the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30 pm.
Crystal Trio performs popular classical works using special glass instruments, glass harp, verrophone and glass pan flute sounding like bass, which originally come from the first glass instruments that appeared in Europe in the middle of the 17th century and were popular among the Royal households and elite salons.

In other Troy-Hayner entertainment, Lets Go to the Movies on Friday, April 9 at 7:30 pm will feature “The African Queen” with Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn. The film begins in 1914 in east Africa and news of WWI has just reached a remote mission. The only way to get home for well-educated, up-tight, missionary Rose Sayer is on a decrepit river steamboat, the African Queen, captained by grumpy, boorish, drinking compatriot Charlie Allnut.
As if a long difficult journey without any comfort weren’t bad enough for such odd companions, Rose is determined to find a way to do their bit for the British war effort by constructing a torpedo to take out a huge German warship, the Louisa. She convinces Charlie to steam up the river Ulanga, where they brave a German fort, raging rapids, very bloodthirsty parasites and the endlessly branching stream which seems to go nowhere but impenetrable swamps.
