VAN WERT, OH (NWPR) – The Wassenberg Art Center is officially preparing for a milestone regional tradition with its upcoming 49th Annual Photography Exhibit. The highly anticipated juried gallery opens to the public on Thursday, September 10, 2026, showcasing a diverse range of visual storytelling from emerging and established photographers across the region.

Image makers of all experience levels were invited to submit their original work. The competition will feature separate youth and adult divisions, allowing creators to compete across six distinct categories: Nature, Portraiture, Architecture, Landscape, Abstract & Macro, and traditional Film Photography.

A panel of independent jurors will evaluate entries based on technical skill, composition, and artistic impact. Outstanding participants will compete for over $1,500 in total cash prizes, including specialized Best of Show honors designated for both color and black-and-white photography.

The 49th Annual Photography Exhibit will run through the fall season. Admission to the Wassenberg Art Center gallery is free and open to the public.
