Artworks given poetic voices

MANCHESTER, VT (PNAN) On the campus of the Southern Vermont Arts Center, upcoming in the Elizabeth de C. Wilson Museum on Saturday, December 3, 2022, “The Girl Who Drew Memories” is a solo exhibition of large-scale abstract paintings and prolific collage works of by Gail Winbury.

Additionally, in collaboration with poet, editor, and teacher James Crews and participating poets Berta Winiker, Charlie Rossiter, David Crews, Michelle Wiegers, Rachel Michaud, and Robbi Hartt were invited to develop original poetry in response to artist Winbury’s “The Other Side” series that deals with childhood memory. These painting-poem pairings will engage visitors in the process of reflecting on their own experience recalling and making sense of their past.
