Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies

The Disney name has always been synonymous with movie magic. The reasons are great in number, such as lifelike animation, unforgettable stories and characters, adroit storytelling, and wondrous music that stay in our hearts and minds long after the images fade from the screen.

Scenes from Disney films will project above the stage while the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and four leading vocalists, Andrew Johnson, Whitney Claire Kaufman, Candice Nicole, and Aaron Phillips will perform the music that Mouseketeers of all ages know so very well. There are individual songs, such as Colors of the Wind from Pocahontas, I Wan’na Be Like You from The Jungle Book, It’s a Small World, and a Mary Poppins medley, as well as orchestral suites from Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid.
