“The Drowning Woman”

TITLE: Elizabeth Berdann: Deep End

BRIEF ABOUT: On view in the Lighthouse, artist Berdann’s (www.elizabethberdann.com)  recent series of miniature portraits plumbs the emotional depths of the seas. Painting in watercolors on pre-ban and prehistoric mammoth ivory, her work evokes the tradition of scrimshaw. The exhibit provides psychological insights into these malevolent monsters as physical incarnations of natural forces and bodily dangers.
