Show to pop with performing jewels

     (AAPNW-TN) – Your ears, eyes, including your soul are in for an awakening as Jewel and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra take center stage in the Allen Arena at Lipscomb University on Thursday, November 11 at 7:00 pm, as well as Friday 12th and Saturday 13th, on both nights at 8:00 pm.

     Singer-songwriter Jewel will be backed by the orchestra and guest conductor Matt Catingub, performing from her 1995 debut “Pieces of You” to her latest collection, “Sweet and Wild,” as well as goers will hear everything from early hits like “Who Will Save Your Soul” to classic tunes by Cole Porter.

     In 2008, Jewel became a country star with the release of her hit album “Perfectly Clear,” has also been accredited by the New York Times as a “songwriter bursting with talents,” that also led to a reputation as a charismatic live performer, earning the respect of artists such as, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young. She will also serve as the host of “Going Platinum” that will make its debut in 2011 on Bravo Network. The show follows 12 musicians as they battle through a series of songwriting challenges testing their creativity, patience and drive. As host, Jewel will provide feedback to contestants and draw on her own past experiences as a struggling songwriter.
