Those deserving sought

     (AAPNW-IN) – Almost four decades ago in the early 1970s, the biennial awards recognize excellence in artistic achievement, philanthropy, arts education, leadership in the arts, and at the same time built a statewide awareness of the important role the arts play in Hoosier state. Now open are nominations for the 2011 Governor’s Arts Awards, which the guidelines can be found at on the Indiana Arts Commission site that will be accepted until 4:30 pm December 15, 2010.  

     In 2009, Governor Mitch Daniels honored the renowned opera singer Angela Brown, Indianapolis; the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis; Sweetwater Sound, Inc., Fort Wayne; Vectren Corporation, Evansville; Ball Brothers Foundation, and George and Frances Ball Foundation, Muncie. Nominations originally made, but not selected for the 2009 can be updated if needed for 2011 reconsidered.
