Neal and his ‘band’ to go live

     (NWPR) – Beginning on Thursday, September 23 and then on Saturday the 25th, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra’s 2010-2011 Miami Valley & Good Samaritan Hospitals Classical Series will open with programs titled: “Fire & Ocean” with both performances at 8:00 pm in the Schuster Center.  Feature soloist is Vadim Gluzman, who performs the passionate Violin Concerto by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, one of the most revered violin concertos in the romantic repertory.

     In between and also at 8:00 pm in the Schuster, on Friday, September 24, the 2010-2011 Demirjian Classical Connections also launches the season with “Beethoven: The Fidelio Overtures”, which the four different overtures composed by Beethoven for Fidelio’s only opera. In addition, tenor Jeffrey Springer will perform one of the opera’s arias.
